Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Le Quang Trung - Vice President of VLA said that 2021 is considered a tumultuous year for the international transport market in general and sea transport in particular. In fact, the situation of port congestion and the shortage of empty containers globally is one of the main reasons pushing international freight rates by sea to record high prices, especially on Asia to North routes. Vietnam is a country located in the region that is greatly affected by this fact. However, from the beginning of 2022 until now, the situation has also improved when GDP in the first quarter increased by 5.03%, higher than the rate of 3.66% in the same period in 2021.

Representative of the Vietnam Maritime Administration, Mr. Vo Duy Thang - Head of Transportation and Maritime Services Department shared: The world is experiencing many changes and complications to the war between Russia and Ukraine, the epidemic situation in China outbreaks again, causing the supply chain to continue to have unpredictable fluctuations, the situation of goods congestion at the Chinese border is still happening....

"Therefore, the Vietnam Maritime Administration really wants the VLA Association to promote its proactive spirit, predict and analyze the world situation to provide the best services for Vietnam's import and export customers. The role of VLA and Vietnamese logistics enterprises is very large in maintain continuous supply chains for Vietnamese manufacturers. Foreign shipping companies take over, only 10% - 20% are Vietnamese enterprises," Thang said.
